What is a drive roller conveyor?

Drive rollers are cylindrical components that drive the conveyor system. Unlike traditional rollers that are driven by an external power source, a drive roller is an automated modular unit that receives its mechanical input for direct drive from an internal electric motor. This is why the product is also known as a drum motor. Therefore, its movement causes a chain reaction throughout the conveyor system to which it is connected, without the need for a further drive unit. Thanks to their special design, high performance, and excellent advantages in terms of space, safety, and energy efficiency, drive pulleys represent an important innovation in conveyor technology, especially for all industrial applications involving unit handling, including airports, the food and beverage industry, warehouses and distribution centers as well as manufacturing and packaging companies.

The drive roller manufactured by GCS is a device used to drive and transfer material, typically in a conveyor belt system. It acts as a power source for the conveyor belt, transferring power from an electric motor to the conveyor belt to make it run. As for the shaft diameter and shaft type of the drive pulley, the design is usually based on the diameter of the pulley and the requirements of the use. The more common shaft diameters are 8mm, 12mm, 15mm, 20mm, and so on. Shaft models are generally standardized shafts, such as H-type, T-type, and so on.
